'Happiness is a good cure': Steelers rookies bring smiles at Children's Hospital

In addition to his responsibilities on the football field, Steelers first-round draft pick Artie Burns, a cornerback out of Miami, must provide for his younger brothers, Thomas and Jordan, and toddler son, A.J.

Burns is connected to and responsible for children in ways that most 21-year-olds aren’t, giving him the right combination of experience and temperament to walk the halls of the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.

Burns and the rest of the Steelers rookie class brought smiles to the faces of children this morning at the hospital in a community outreach event.

“When I walk into these places and hear stories, it just hits my heart because I have a son, and he’s healthy,” Burns said.
