Drafting young running back could prove useful for Steelers

There should be no surprise the Steelers’ committed to pay Le’Veon Bell slightly more than $12 million next season, nor that they still want to sign him to a multi-year contract.

He turned 25 last month and has been one of the most dynamic running backs in the NFL during his four-year career. His average of 157 yards per game from scrimmage last season (rushing plus receiving) topped all players and his 105.7 rushing yards on average ranked second.

He twice set Steelers playoff records for rushing in consecutive games.

Yet, he ended his third straight season with an injury and this time it might be traced to overuse.
