From now until the 2017 NFL Draft takes place, we hope to showcase as many prospects as possible and examine both their strengths and weaknesses. Most of these profiles will feature individuals that the Pittsburgh Steelers are likely to have an interest in, while a few others will be top-ranked players. If there is a player you would like us to analyze, let us know in the comments below.

Davon Godchaux/LSU DE or DT – 6’3” 310 lbs.

The Good:

–Use his hips well with lower body power
–Nice powerful punch
–Natural 3-tech
–Good swim move to get arm over blockers
–Hard to move when protecting one gap against one blocker
–More fluid and bendy than I expected a man that size to be

The Bad:

–His short arms makes it hard to keep blockers off him
–Conditioning needs improvement
–Seems to be last defender to come off the line of scrimmage at least a third of time
–Double teams work more often than not against him
–Domestic violence issue where he grabbed girlfriend/mother of his 10 month old and prevented her to leave in September 2016 (later dropped)

Bio:

–Started 26 of 35 games played.
