Pirates lose to Cardinals in Glasnow's final start

ST. LOUIS — As Sean Rodriguez’s throw found its way into John Jaso’s glove, Tyler Glasnow walked off the mound, his season in the books. Displaying both the tantalizing talent and the rough edges still in need of work, Glasnow’s rookie year exemplified what general manager Neal Huntington sometimes says about players, especially young ones: Their development is not linear.

Glasnow lost his final start, 7-0 against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium Friday night, but ended with a relatively positive outing. He allowed one run and one hit in five innings. He walked four and struck out four.
