A big dose of clutch

That has to be one of the best Pirate wins of the year. How many times have we seen them come up big late in a tight game on the road like that? Not very many. Well, on Tuesday they did it several times on the same night.

First, Gregory Polanco. The kid seems to be all right after all – he’s turning the disappointing stat line around, he has had a ton of clutch hits lately, and he just looks so much more comfortable and confident. It was only fitting, too – after he had smoked the ball and was robbed multiple times earlier in the game, he delivered the massive bases-clearing double to seemingly win the game in the eighth.
