With torn hamstring healed, Fehr enjoying clean bill of health

Eric Fehr was reluctant at first. All hockey players are. Fehr tore his hamstring last season, an injury that forced him to miss pretty much all of February and the beginning of March, but had little interest in discussing it Friday on the first day of Penguins training camp at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex.

It only came up midway through a four-minute interview, the first hint during an answer about the Penguins' training staff, and Fehr begrudgingly let the cat out of the bag. Hockey players don't like to make excuses, and Fehr surely didn't want to use a bum hamstring to explain an eight-goal output that was just 25 percent of what he produced the previous two seasons (32).
