With the release of the full 2018-19 American Hockey League schedule on Wednesday, let’s take a look now at what the WBS Penguins have been doing this summer to prepare for their 20th season in northeastern Pennsylvania.
KOSTOPOULOS RETIRES, THEN RETURNS...WITH AN OLD FRIEND
The first big shoe to drop after Charlotte swept the WBS Penguins out of the 2018 Calder Cup playoffs was the retirement of longtime captain and statistical leader in pretty much everything notable, Tom Kostopoulos, which became official following Charlotte’s 7-3 eliminator of WBS back on April 26.
