Penguins winger Carl Hagelin scratched for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final

Penguins winger Carl Hagelin is a healthy scratch for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final against Nashville.

With Patric Hornqvist returning to the lineup, either Hagelin or Jake Guentzel appeared poised to sit, and coach Mike Sullivan opted to go with Guentzel on the team’s fourth line.

Guentzel has nine goals and seven assists in these playoffs, but had no goals and two assists in the Eastern Conference final against Ottawa. He had 16 goals and 17 assists in the regular season.

Hagelin has just one goal and no assists in 11 games this postseason.
