As a novice goalie growing up in Thunder Bay, Ontario, it shouldn’t really be much surprise that Gavin Currie’s favorite NHL player is Penguins goalie Matt Murray.
So when Currie, 7, set up his lemonade stand (wearing a No. 30 Penguins jersey, of course) Sunday afternoon, he wanted some of the proceeds to go to the Thunder Bay Humane Society, a charity Murray and his girlfriend, Christina Sirignano, have been actively involved with.
Murray ended up getting wind of Currie’s stand and, on a nice summer afternoon, decided he could indeed use a cool glass of lemonade.
