Dupuis' children pray nightly for his healthy return to the Penguins

At night, before his children go to sleep, the prayers in the Dupuis household always circle back to daddy.

Ages 11, 9, 7, and 4, they pray for their father, NHL veteran Pascal Dupuis, to stay safe on the ice.

Dupuis has been preparing for the 2015-16 season for several weeks now after a blood clot traveled to his lung and threatened his livelihood and life in November.

He believes they understand he’s OK now.

“They do. They see me. They know. They’re old enough now,” said Dupuis. “They know what I’m doing. They know the injection part.
