In many ways, this training camp has made center Jay McClement feel young again.
But not always necessarily in a good way.
McClement, 34, is with the Penguins on a professional tryout opportunity, competing for the vacant NHL center job the team has in its lineup. His status means this preseason could end with a contract with the two-time defending Stanley Cup champions, or looking for his next opportunity elsewhere.
“It’s kind of like full circle, I think,” McClement said. “It’s a little different than your first couple of years, but I feel like it’s going back to my first couple of years.
