Center Evgeni Malkin misses third game in a row with unspecified lower-body injury.

Evgeni Malkin missed a third consecutive game Monday because of an undisclosed lower-body injury, leaving Matt Cullen to patch the hole left on the Penguins’ second line.

It’s a gig that comes with two of the Penguins fastest wingers — Carl Hagelin and Phil Kessel. Managing it, comes down to allowing the proper space for them to create offense.

“When you have guys that can skate, and we have three guys that can skate, it’s all about moving and finding holes and not crowding the guy,” Cullen said. “A guy that has speed like that you want to allow him the space to make a play.
