Brandon Saad’s second celebration with the Stanley Cup was different than his first.
In 2013, Saad primarily spent his day with the Cup in his native Gibsonia at a banquet hall. Wednesday, he spent a good portion of his day at the 911th Airlift Wing in Moon. For Saad, who frequently reads books on the military, bringing the Cup to the base was important.
“You get a day with it and do what you like,” said Saad, who posed for pictures and offered autographs to an estimate of more than 200 people at the base. “This is something I’m into and giving back to the true heroes.
