Penguins Re-Sign Defenseman Reid McNeill

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed defenseman Reid McNeill to a two-year contract, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

The deal is a two-way deal that carries an average annual value of $575,000 at the NHL level.

McNeill, 23, helped the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins allow the fewest goals in the American Hockey League (AHL) for the fourth time in the last five years in 2014-15. He played in 54 regular-season contests, compiling seven points (2G-5A), a plus-6 and 121 penalty minutes.

In two-plus years with WBS, McNeill has 12 points (3G-9A) and a plus-17 in 112 regular-season contests and five points (1G-4A) in 30 playoff games.
