The Pitt women’s basketball team is enduring some growing pains under second-year head coach Lance White, but there are undoubtedly some promising pieces in place on the roster. One of the top young talents on the team is Amber Brown, a freshman guard out of Monroe, Louisiana, and after averaging a double-double over the past week, she was named ACC Freshman of the Week.

She averaged a double-double in a pair of non-conference games with 15.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
