ESPN’s bracketologist Joe Lunardi released his updated projections this morning. He has Pitt as the 11th seed in the south region, with a first round matchup against Marquette in Denver. Cornell and Texas are the other two teams in their grouping. Additionally, he has designated Pitt as the automatic qualifier out of the ACC.

College basketball analysts around the country are starting to believe in the Panthers as not only an ACC threat but perhaps the favorite after the first part of the season.

Also of note, in the previous edition, Penn State was in the field, and now they are in the first four out.
