Suns centers Tyson Chandler, Alex Len sit for small ball

SAN ANTONIO – Between matching up with opponents’ smaller lineups and playing from behind, Suns centers Tyson Chandler and Alex Len saw reduced minutes in the road trip’s first two games.

Chandler, the starter, played 18 and 16 minutes at Denver and New Orleans, respectively. Other than a game he left for an ankle sprain, Chandler’s season low for minutes played last season was 19 but that came during a 53-point Dallas rout of Philadelphia.

Chandler has averaged at least 30 minutes in the past four seasons.

“I’m a competitor,” Chandler said.
