The Phoenix Suns have waived guard Deonte Burton, the team announced Tuesday. Burton was signed to a training camp deal on Sept. 16, but was unable to make it past the first cut, leaving Henry Sims, Cory Jefferson, Terrico White and Kyle Casey to compete for the remaining two spots on the official 15-man roster.

According to Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic, Burton is now expected to join Phoenix’s NBA D-League affiliate, the Bakersfield Jam:
