Power-play goals sink Coyotes in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Coyotes didn’t give up an outrageous amount of shots – a much-needed improvement.

They avoided surrendering a goal in the first minute of play, which was also lacking two days ago when the Blue Jackets rallied for a 3-2 shootout win that brightened the spotlight on the Coyotes’ woes with the puck because, frankly, they didn’t have it enough.

But one of the few areas they actually excelled at Saturday didn’t carry over to the rematch Monday as the Coyotes were tagged for two power-play goals en route to a 4-1 letdown at Nationwide Arena after their penalty killers went 5-for-5 in the previous game.
