Perlini's strong start earns Coyotes promotion

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Coyotes winger Brendan Perlini didn’t arrive in Columbus until 1 a.m. Monday, a late arrival to the team’s two-game road trip, but he didn’t seem tired when he reported to the arena in the morning.

Far from it, actually.

“(I’m) playing in the NHL,” he said. “I’m going to have endless energy.”

Perlini made his debut with the Coyotes against the Blue Jackets, his first look in the NHL after getting drafted 12th overall in 2014. The 20-year-old became the sixth rookie to make his league debut this season.

“It’s unbelievable,” Perlini said.
