It’s been almost a month since the Coyotes’ blue line swelled to eight defensemen, giving the team options as it readied itself to pursue a playoff spot in the second half of the season.
And while that remains the goal – finding a successful formula to stay in contention – the back end continues to be a work in progress as team brass mulls the best combination for now and the future.
“We’re still looking to see who can help us, who can fit short-term and long-term,” General Manager Don Maloney said. “This is a real evaluation time.
