Villanova wins it late; Penn routs Drexel

Freshman Jacob Anderson’s second goal of the game in the 86th minute off a free kick from Miguel Polley lifted Villanova to their first Big East win of the season on Saturday night at Marquette.

The Wildcats (4-3-1) went down in the 51st minute on a Patrick Seagrist goal, but it was Anderson responding with the equalizer in the 62nd minute off a cross from Polley that set up the dramatic finish that snapped the Golden Eagles six-game unbeaten stretch.

Marquette had several chances to send it to overtime, but Nova keeper Will Steiner was up to the task with a couple clutch saves that sealed the victory.
