After an undefeated regular season, Reading United, the Union’s PDL affiliate, won an attacking duel with Myrtle Beach Mutiny 4-3 and held on through a hurricane of pressure to knock off Red Bulls U23 squad last weekend. Now they are hosting The Villages SC in a National semifinal on Saturday.
Head coach Alan McCann is glad his team won both games last weekend to advance to Saturday’s semi — which will take place at 7PM EST in Gurski Stadium in Reading — but the pride he feels stems from how the team won.
