If it was tough for fans to hear about Maurice Edu’s most recent injury, imagine how hard it was for his teammates.

For almost a year the Union have watched Edu push for a comeback, only to suffer a fractured fibula during training the day before he was slotted to make his home debut. Now, with their backs against the wall – the team heads to Toronto, with winning a playoff match on their mind and Edu serving as some inspiration.

“That was a tough one for the whole team because he worked so hard. Even if he didn’t play, he’s part of the group and gave everything he had during training.
