Guillermo Delgado breaks Delaware scoring record in loss to Maryland

Senior forward Guillermo Delgado made history in College Park, Maryland on Tuesday, recording a brace to set a new career goal-scoring mark for the Blue Hens.

Delgado tied Mike Biggs’ mark of 47 career goals set in 1968-70 with a goal in the 23rd minute that canceled out Gordon Wild’s fourth minute strike for the Terps and then added No. 48 in the 73rd minute.

His second goal momentarily put the Blue Hens in front, but it was Wild again three minutes later with the equalizer and once more for the hat trick in overtime that spoiled Delgado’s record-setting evening.
