As Friday’s Major League Baseball trade deadline approaches, the rumors are coming fast and furious. One report on Tuesday caught our collective eye, as it appears the Texas Rangers will try to land a big fish this week.
Bob Nightengale is reporting that the Rangers are “now the clear-cut favorite” to land Philadelphia Phillies ace Cole Hamels.
The Rangers are currently eight games out of first place in the American League West and the same distance away from the final Wild Card spot. But Texas is apparently looking to land a guy to help them moving forward over the next few years.
