Here’s how the Phillies’ minor league teams fared on Wednesday, August 5:
Lehigh Valley IronPigs (51-61) – Triple A
The IronPigs used a pair of four-run innings to win their third in a row over the Toledo Mud Hens, 9-3, at Fifth Third Field in Toledo, Ohio.
The IronPigs immediately jumped on Toledo starter Luis Cessa by putting up four runs in the first inning thanks to RBI hits from Brian Bogusevic and Aaron Altherr, and a sacrifice fly from Cord Phelps.
Cessa bounced back to pitched three consecutive scoreless frames, but ran into more trouble during the fifth when the IronPigs put up four more runs.
