Here’s how the Phillies’ minor league teams fared on Tuesday, July 7:
Lehigh Valley IronPigs (37-50) – Triple A
The IronPigs jumped out to a big lead early, and managed to hold off the Pawtucket Red Sox late during a 9-6 victory at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown.
The victory was Lehigh Valley’s eighth in its last 10 outings.
The IronPigs jumped on Pawtucket pitcher Steven Wright early to the tune of five runs in the first inning.
The Red Sox were able to chip away at that lead and even pulled their deficit to within one run after the top of the eighth inning.
