Phillies give up five homers in loss

ST. LOUIS - The Phillies' starting pitching - which had carried the team for the last week - finally gave way Monday night. Jeremy Hellickson was tagged for six runs as the St. Louis Cardinals ripped five homers in a 10-3 win over the Phillies at Busch Stadium.

The Phillies' starters entered Monday with a 3.40 ERA, a mark that was better through 25 games than the team's fabled 2011 "Four Aces" rotation. They had won six straight games with an average of 3.33 runs per game. Something had to give.

And that something proved to be Hellickson.
