Chugging Texas T(alent): Seven Phillies-Astros Trades

If the Phillies dominate Houston on the field this week as completely as they have in the transaction column over the last 30 years, this World Series will go very well.

I feel reasonably certain the Phillies did not lose the Brad Lidge trade. Or any of these trades.

It’s not like the Phillies and Astros don’t have some compelling history. The 1980 NLCS was one for the ages: Mike Schmidt and Steve Carlton versus Nolan Ryan and Joe Morgan, the maximum five games, the last four decided in extras.
