PERHAPS WHEN the wins aren't really piling up, playing with a lead is more difficult than usual. The Flyers played a really good first two periods Monday night against Carolina, but had a third-period letdown and needed overtime to secure a second point.
It happened again Friday afternoon. And it ended the same way, with a Shayne Gostisbehere one-timer on the power play in overtime, scoring the Flyers a 3-2 win over Nashville - the same score as Monday night's win.
The Flyers and Predators were 52 seconds away from heading to a shootout. But Gostisbehere salvaged a second point.
