Philadelphia Eagles Cut Wide Receiver Riley Cooper

This move saves the Eagles $2.9 million on their cap but they incurred $2.4 million in dead money according to Overthgcap.com.

Cooper posted a career-high 835 yards and eight touchdowns with 47 receptions in 2013. The Eagles signed him to a five year $22.8 million contract in that offseason. And Cooper promptly forgot how to play football. In 2014 he posted 577 yards and only 327 yards in 2015.

He became less and less of a target as each season wore on. In fact, he did not catch a single pass in each of the last two games of the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
