Gardner goes on IR; Tobin likely to step in at guard

The Eagles' offensive line depth will be challenged again this season. Right guard Andrew Gardner, who won a competition to start in training camp, will miss the remainder of the season after he was placed on injured reserve Tuesday with a foot injury.

The Eagles are expected to turn to third-year veteran Matt Tobin as their new starting guard. He practiced with the starting line on Tuesday. Dennis Kelly is also an option. Both players were beaten out by Gardner during the summer.

"I feel pretty confident," Tobin said. "I got a lot of reps in the offseason at right guard.
