Eagles will reportedly sign former Villanova linebacker

The Philadelphia Eagles are set to sign former Villanova linebacker Don Cherry (not to be confused with the Canadian hockey commentator of the same name pictured above), according to a report from ESPN's Adam Caplan.

The 21-year-old Cherry measures in at 6-1, 236 pounds. He originally signed with the Bears as an undrafted rookie free agent following the 2016 NFL Draft. Chicago released Cherry in mid-June.

Cherry played in 46 games for the Wildcats over four seasons. He finished his college career with 258 tackles, 14 sacks, 46.5 tackles for loss, seven forced fumbles, seven passes defensed, and one interception.
