W hen Connor Barwin began his career in the NFL in 2009, the Eagles defensive end, indie-rock geek, and civic activist - whose third annual benefit concert for his Make the World Better Foundation takes place at Union Transfer on Friday, with Philadelphia bands Waxahatchee and Hop Along headlining - came to a surprise realization.
