DeVonta Smith, Eagles agree to contract extension

The Philadelphia Eagles and DeVonta Smith have agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension, according to an official team announcement. The team also announced they picked up his fifth-year option.

And so Smitty is now under team control through the 2028 NFL season.

He was originally under contract for 2024. The fifth-year option, which is worth just under $16 million, accounts for 2025. And then the three-year, $75 million extension that reportedly includes $51 million guaranteed kicks in for the three seasons after that.

This news hardly comes as a surprise; there was a recent report about the Eagles and Smith discussing a new deal.
