Korkmaz began his first season as a Sixers draftee overseas playing for Anadolu Efes, formerly of Dario Saric fame, in the Turkish Basketball Super League. Amidst a lack of playing time there (just over nine minutes per game in 15 contests), Efes loaned Korkmaz to Banvit, a club in the same Turkish league.
