The 76ers now say that Joel Embiid will participate in summer-league basketball after all.
Sixers CEO Scott O'Neil was asked Tuesday by Comcast SportsNet if the center would play in the summer.
"He will. Yes he will," O'Neil responded.
On April 8, coach Brett Brown would not commit to the 7-foot rookie's playing in the summer leagues. However, Brown said he would be disappointed if the former Kansas star did not play. Embiid missed the entire season as he recovered from right foot surgery.
"Personally, I expect him to play in the summer league," Brown said on April 10.
