Jurors are about to hear the first witnesses in the criminal trial of former Penn State president Graham Spanier (SPAN'-yur).

Prosecutors and defense attorneys are telling the seven women and five men what they can expect as the trial unfolds.

They'll hear allegations Tuesday that Spanier endangered children by mishandling complaints that former football coach Jerry Sandusky was molesting boys. Sandusky is now serving a long prison term.

Deputy Attorney General Patrick Schulte tells jurors that Spanier and others agreed not to report Sandusky in 2001 and as a result "evil in the form of Jerry Sandusky was allowed to run wild.
