Penn State's new offensive coordinator has Pittsburgh roots and an impressive FCS background.
Joe Moorhead, the head coach at Fordham for the last four seasons, has been hired by James Franklin to replace John Donovan, who was let go by Franklin after two ineffective seasons.
PSU athletics confirmed the Moorhead hiring on Saturday.
Earlier Saturday, several outlets -- Lions247 FightonState and FOX Sports -- all reported that Moorhead would be PSU's next offensive coordinator.
Franklin fired Donovan the day after Penn State lost to Michigan State 55-16 to close out the regular season.
