Penn State wrestling's Mark Hall captured individual title at Southern Scuffle

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — While Penn State didn't send any of its usual starters to the highly competitive, annual Southern Scuffle tournament, one true freshman brought home some impressive hardware.

Mark Hall went undefeated through a very tough 174-pound bracket on the way to earning first place.

Hall, who was one of six non-starters sent to the tournament, went 5-0 with two pins and a major decision in the two-day tournament.

After earning a pin and a major decision in his first two matches, Hall faced No. 3 Casey Kent of the University of Pennsylvania, ultimately edging the top seed of the tournament, 9-4.
