Penn State wrestlers shine in Madison Square Garden

Nico Megaludis earned a third trip to the NCAA Division I wrestling finals, while Penn State closed in on its fifth team title in six years Friday at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Megaludis (34-3), a redshirt senior from Franklin Regional High School, advanced to the 125-pound title match with an 8-2 semifinal win against American’s David Terao, the No. 15 seed.

“I’ve been wrestling better and better each match,” Megaludis said. “[Saturday] it’s going to be awesome. I can’t wait.”

Megaludis, seeded No. 3, is Penn State’s ninth four-time All-American. He placed second in the country in 2012 and 2013, finished third in 2014 and redshirted last season.
