Penn State women's lacrosse upsets No. 4 Maryland on road behind strong 2nd half

Following a high-scoring 15-10 loss to No. 6 Michigan, No. 24 Penn State made the short journey to College Park, Maryland, for a Saturday matinee versus the IWLCA poll’s fourth-ranked Terrapins.

With just two games until the Big Ten Tournament, the Nittany Lions would generate some much-needed momentum entering postseason play. The 11-3 Terrapins stood in their way in search of some hardware, as a win would earn Maryland a share of the Big Ten title.

The Nittany Lions won the contest, 12-11, in comeback fashion.

Kayla Abernathy won the opening draw for the blue and white, and the top-25 dual commenced.
