Penn State women’s cross country repeats as Mid-Atlantic Regional victors, punch ticket to NCAA Championships

Four years after celebrating a Mid-Atlantic Regional victory on the Blue/White Golf Courses, Penn State earned another regional title on its home turf and retained its hold over a multitude of in-area foes.

Punching a ticket back to the NCAA Championships for the eighth time in nine years, the No. 9 Nittany Lions women's team ran away from the competition in this season's latest test. The squad captured three of the top five individual spots and ended up toppling its closest rival, No. 21 Villanova, by a whopping 36-93 score. The victory was the third regional crown in five years, clinching at the Courses in 2012 and taking the win last year.
