Penn State men's swimming's Shane Ryan collects medal for third consecutive night

While Penn State's point performance wasn't strong enough to rise out of seventh place on the final day of the Big Ten Championships, the team had plenty to celebrate as school records fell.

Liam Veregin led off the Nittany Lions in the first event of the final day, the 200-yard backstroke, swimming a season-best 1:45.56 to slide into the 'C' final.

In that final he posted a 1:45.88 to finish third in the heat.

Shane Ryan was the Nittany Lions' lone representative in the finals for the 100-yard freestyle. He finished second in the preliminaries with a time of 42.
