Michael Mauti has never backed down from a challenge, and the former Penn State star revealed earlier this week that he was medically cleared to resume his NFL career after a lengthy battle with ulcerative colitis, an inflammatory bowel disease that has affected him since his college days.
Mauti, who previously played with the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints, worked out with Houston a few days ago. Perhaps Mauti had an "in" with the Texans, given the fact that Bill O'Brien, his former Penn State coach, is now in his fourth year as Houston's leader.
