No. 8 Michigan State thoroughly dominated No. 20 Penn State on Friday in a 5-0 win.
First Period
The Spartans took an early lead on a deflection in front of the net that beat Liam Souliere. After taking a penalty midway through the period, Michigan State extended its lead to 2-0 on a shorthanded goal by Reed Lebster.
MSU dominated the first period, leading in shots 17-9. Penn State could not put together any consistent attack.
Second Period
Penn State created some quality chances early in the second period to try to get back in the game, but it was Michigan State who found the back of the net first.
