Penn State football landed a highly regarded recruit Monday when Virginia linebacker Ellis Brooks tweeted his commitment.

Brooks, a 6-foot-2, 240-pound inside linebacker with a four-star rating from Rivals.com, also had offers from LSU, Michigan and Notre Dame, among others. He’s headed to Penn State from Benedictine High School in Richmond, Va., where he was ranked the No. 8 player in the state. Rivals considers him the No. 6 inside linebacker in the country.
