Women's Soccer Signs Finnish National Team GK Henriikka Mäkelä

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific women's soccer team has signed Finnish national team goalkeeper Henriikka Mäkelä head coach Kerri Scroope announced Friday.

She has been a member of the Finland U-17, U-18, U-19 and U-23 national teams, totaling 104 caps, and was recently called up to start for the Finnish Senior National Team in a friendly against China.

"We are very excited with the addition of Henrikka to our team," Scroope said. "She is a strong goalkeeper who brings national team experience with her. We look for her to bring stability and leadership to our backline."

Mäkelä, a 5-10 keeper from Vantaa, Finland, has been playing for PK-35 Vantaa in the Women's Premier League, helping the club to back-to-back Finnish Premier League Championships in 2015 and 2016.
