PALO ALTO, Calif. - In their final preseason match, the Pacific men's soccer team was narrowly edged out by host #1 Stanford 1-0 on Saturday night.

The Tiger defense came out strong against the number one team in the country while the offense provided an early pressure on the other side of the field. However in the 19th minute, the hosts got on the board as Foster Langsdorf got one past the diving Curtis Goldsmith for the score and the 1-0 lead. In the 33rd minute Bob Groenendijk ripped a shot from outside the left side of the box, but a Cardinal defender was able to get his body in front of it and send it out of play.
